Mathew Shadegg
Matthew Shadegg BA’20, recently conducted a survey (using quantitative social science method) to inquire how students use social media, particularly the underlying reasoning behind their individual usage of various social-media platforms. He applied for and obtained IRB approval (which took a few tries) and launched his survey to gather data via Qualtrics. He is applying a theory that he found in the A&H communication literature as his framework and he adapted an already established tool.
