Dr. Dennis Kratz will be been honored by the Dallas-based Business Council for the Arts, a nonprofit that seeks to “unite commerce and culture.” At an upcoming ceremony, Kratz will be awarded the Obelisk Award, which honors businesses and leaders for their support of the arts in North Texas. Kratz, former dean of the School of Arts and Humanities, is the founding director of the Center for Asian Studies and is the Ignancy and Celina Rockover Professor of Humanities. Among his accomplishments as dean, he led the development of new degree programs, as well as new research centers such as the Center for Values in Medicine, Science and Technology.
