Get Involved

The Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology empowers and supports thinkers and makers as they achieve academic goals, build life skills, and cultivate a competitive edge. No matter what your passions are, you will find your focus. Our community includes diverse backgrounds, cultures, identities, and interests, and we have one thing in common: CREATIVITY!

Auditions

Several times throughout each year, auditions for theatre plays, dance performances, and other ensembles will be posted on the University’s Comet Calendar. If any auditions are coming up in the next few weeks, they will display below:

Bass School Student Organizations

The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) UTD presents career-development workshops and networking opportunities for those entering the design industry. The Animation Guild provides a collaborative environment for students interested in animation production. Likewise, the Student Game Developer Association is a community of students and industry professionals interested in game development. And the UX Club increases awareness and community around user-centered design.

Building Experience

If you have an interest in creative writing, Reunion: The Dallas Review has been dedicated to finding and publishing exceptional examples of short fiction, drama, visual art, poetry, translation work, non-fiction, and interviews for over three decades. Reunion publishes both seasoned writers alongside newer writers. You might even be interested in being a reader or editor for the publication!

We also have several Honor Societies and the Bass Association of Graduate Students.

Incoming freshman living on campus should consider applying for the Living Learning Community.

Other Student Organizations

The Student Organization Center assists students in connecting to the UT Dallas community. They maintain a vast listing of more than 300 clubs and organizations that students may join.

We do our best to highlight groups related to the arts, humanities, and technology by listing them on our social media directory.

Events

The Bass School organizes concerts, art exhibitions, animation showcases, dance performances, theatre productions, public lectures, poetry readings and more for the UT Dallas campus each year. View our events page to see what is coming up.
