Issue 10 | December 2020: From the Dean

Dr. Nils Roemer

Dear Students, Staff, Faculty and Friends,

As we wrap up the fall semester, I want to thank each of you for continuing to persevere during this pandemic. The last few months have not been easy for the School of Arts and Humanities, but you all have demonstrated fortitude, strength and creativity.

It was particularly difficult to deal with the death of one our faculty colleagues, professor Nora Collins, who lost her life due to COVID-19 complications late last month. Professor Collins taught German classes, positively impacted the lives of numerous students and will be missed.

Like you, I am hopeful about developments surrounding a vaccine and its impact on our academic and personal activities. Remember to focus on self-care, mindful interactions with others, and take a moment to unplug. We have missed you and the energy that you bring to our campus, classes and corridors. I look forward to seeing everyone face to face sometime in 2021.

In the meantime, I hope you and your loved ones have a restful holiday season.

With all the best wishes,

Nils Roemer
