A graduate from the School of Arts and Humanities recently was highlighted at the Nasher Prize Dialogues Graduate Symposium, sponsored by the Nasher Sculpture Center. Austin Bailey MA’20 spoke about multi-media artist Michael Rakowitz, who won the 2020 Nasher Prize. Bailey became fascinated with the work of Rakowitz as he interned at the Nasher, subsequently making Rakowitz the topic of his master’s thesis. Bailey joined five other graduate students from prestigious art history programs at the digital symposium. In addition to making presentations, the students were able to meet privately with Rakowitz in a private Zoom meeting.
