Dr. Monica Rankin, A&H associate professor, and Dr. Vincent Ng, professor of computer science, have been awarded the SPIRe (Seed Program for Interdisciplinary Research) internal UT Dallas research grant. Their project will use historical data from Latin America in World War II to design a machine-learning based system for analyzing propaganda content. This $100,000 grant will support one year of collaborative research between the Center for US-Latin America Initiatives and the UT Dallas Human Language Technology Research Institute.
