Issue 07 | September 2020: ”Nasher Windows” Exhibit Features UT Dallas Community

Nasher Windows

A new series of exhibitions at the Nasher Sculpture Center, called Nasher Windows, features several artists who are related to UT Dallas. The installations are viewable through the windows from the outside of the Renzo Piano-designed museum and provide exhibition space for North Texas-based artists, while offering the public an accessible way to view art. The featured UT Dallas-related artists are alumni Sara Cardona and Cierra Bryant, and faculty adjunct Kristen Cochran.

“We began Nasher Windows as way to continue showing art in the museum, even if from a distance, believing that it could serve as a balm to the city during this time of deep anxiety and isolation,” said Nasher Director Jeremy Strick. “The project has provided a platform for some of the best emerging and mid-career artists in North Texas, many of whom had exhibitions cancelled due to the shutdown, and we have been overwhelmed by the quality of the work by them, as well as the outpouring of appreciation for it by the public.”

Nasher Windows installations run Thursday–Tuesday and host a roster of early- and mid-career North Texas-based artists.
