Two recent scholarly publications highlighted the musical compositions of UT Dallas professor of music, Dr. Robert Xavier Rodríguez, who also holds an Endowed Chair in Art and Aesthetic Studies. 25 Texas Heroes by T.L. Hulsey includes a biographical chapter about Rodríguez along with analytical notes about his music. Redefining America Through Opera: Representations of Latin/o Americans And A New Tradition, by Tania Arazi Coambs, analyzes Rodríguez’s operas written on Latin-American subjects: Frida; La Curandera; Monkey See, Monkey Do and Tango.
