Dr. Laura Hyunjhee Kim, assistant professor of visual and performing arts, recently collaborated on a special, immersive interactive performance at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The installation, “Beyond All Polarities, We Are ___,” runs through July 7. According to event organizers, the performance installation “spoken through presence, embodied through practice, and experienced through participation.” Her collaborators on the project are Surabhi Saraf and Ashwini Bhat. Kim and Saraf are members of the Centre for Emotional Materiality (CEM), a collective of multidisciplinary artists and researchers who examine the algorithmic conditioning of emotions and its effects on bodies and beliefs.
