The Omni Dallas Hotel, in a significant recognition of our students’ talent, partnered with Professor Andrew F. Scott. They showcased animations produced by 16 of our Projection Mapping (ATCM 3356) students and LightSquad members on their towering LED facade. This collaboration not only provided a platform for our students’ work but also highlighted the school’s commitment to fostering creative partnerships.
In ATCM 3356, students delve into digital fabrication techniques and their relationship to traditional sculptural processes. The course uses digital fabrication as an intermediate tool in the sculpture process, providing students with practical skills that are highly applicable in the real world. It also explores the role of materiality in imbuing objects with meaning through thematic development.
The hotel’s iconic 23-story LED facade will grace the city skyline throughout April to celebrate Dallas Art Month, a month-long celebration of the city’s flourishing arts and culture featuring countless opportunities for visitors to enjoy the local art scene.
