Bass School’s Association of Graduate Students
The Bass School’s Association of Graduate Students provides professional development and networking opportunities for graduate students in arts, humanities and technology at UT Dallas.
Advocacy
The Bass School’s Association of Graduate Students has representatives on administration committees, presents student concerns to the administration, and seeks to inform students about official goings-on, such as changes in the program, TA hiring conditions, etc.
Monthly Informational & Professional Development Sessions
Come to one of our monthly informational meetings open to all graduate students in the Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology. Each meeting will include information about some key aspect of the different Bass School graduate programs, such as the foreign language requirement, the research and creative portfolio alternatives, preparing for exam fields and other topics of interest.
Fall/Spring Mixers
We host a social/mixer for new and returning students each semester. All graduate students, faculty and staff in the Bass School are welcome to attend.
RAW: Graduate Student Conference
Each spring. we host a graduate student conference. RAW (“Research, Arts, and Writing”) provides graduate students the opportunity to share their work with their colleagues and professors in a formal conference setting.
Graduate students from any school or institution are encouraged to submit their work.
The RAW conference is a vibrant platform created by and for graduate student scholars and artists, fostering scholarly, creative, and transdisciplinary dialogues across the fields of arts, humanities, and emerging technologies. The annual Spring conference, organized by the Bass Association of Graduate Students, witnesses participation from graduate students across Texas and the US. The theme for the 16th annual RAW Conference 2025 is BAIT, PROMPTS, and AID: The Power and Poetics of Engagement in Art, Technology, History, and Human Nature/Nurture.
The Call for Papers for RAW 2025 is open until December 6, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.
