Audition for UTD Drumline
Auditions for the 2025 UTD Drumline are by video. Anyone with prior battery or front ensemble* experience is invited to audition. Fill out the 2025 UTD Drumline Audition Registration Form to audition.
The UTD Drumline rehearses as a full group on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:00–5:15. Members must enroll in Drumline (MUSI 3131). Enrollment is required. Contact drumline@utdallas.edu, for an enrollment permission number.

Video Audition Requirements
- The version of the following warm-up exercises that you know best
- 8s or 8-8-16
- Accent Tap
- Double Beat
- Double stroke roll (duple base)
- Double stroke roll (triple base)
- Flam Accent
- Flam Tap
- Open-closed-open double stroke roll
Detailed audition information, recording guidelines, and upload folder are available in the Drumline/Percussion Ensemble organization in eLearning. Upon receiving your registration form, you will be added to the organization.

*There is no front ensemble. Sorry. If mallets and/or concert percussion are your thing and you do not wish to play a battery instrument, then check out the UTD Wind Ensemble (MUSI 3120). Also, percussion ensemble takes place during the spring semester. Percussion Ensemble will be listed in CourseBook as Percussion Ensemble (MUSI 3130) when the Spring 2026 Course Offerings are published.
