International English Honor Society
Sigma Tau Delta
UTD’s Alpha Psi Nu is a chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society. In 2025, the chapter was awarded second place in Sigma Tau Delta’s Outstanding Chapter Award, recognizing its creativity, fundraising efforts, and the meaningful impact it has on the UT Dallas community.
Sigma Tau Delta, exists to
- Recognize outstanding scholars in English literature, writing, and rhetoric.
- Provide interest in literature and the English language.
- Promote exemplary character and good fellowship among members.
- Serve by fostering literacy.
Membership benefits include local events and service, scholarship opportunities, publication opportunities, internship opportunities, a job board for members, and a strong international network.
We invite those who have not yet qualified but want to be active in the community to join as associate members. If you have completed courses in English, rhetoric, creative writing, or literature (past RHET1302) and you would like want more information about Sigma Tau Delta, email sigmataudelta@utdallas.edu.
