Prospective Students

The UT Dallas Office of Admission and Enrollment provides pre-admission counseling for high school students and prospective UT Dallas students. Prospective first-time-in-college freshman and transfer students who would like to speak with an admission counselor about undergraduate admission and enrollment to UT Dallas can schedule a virtual appointment online.

Current high school students with additional questions about the Bass School’s degree plans, AP, CLEP and transfer credit can request a virtual or in-person prospective high school student meeting.

Parents and Families

Parents and family members play a vital supportive role. The Comet Families website offers valuable resources for parents to be involved at the University. In addition, the Student Counseling Center provides numerous resources to assist students.

Should a family member wish to attend an advising appointment with their student, they and their student will need to complete the required FERPA paperwork on the Office of the Registrar’s website.

First-Year Students

The Bass School has a Living Learning Community for first-year students who want to live on campus.

Additionally, first-year students enroll in a First Year Seminar during their first fall semester. This class is designed to introduce students to UTD and the Bass School, as well as help them navigate the transition to university life.

Transfer Students

The Bass School welcomes transfer students.

We know each student’s situation is unique. Our student body includes those who come here after one or two years at another institution, return to academics later in life, work full-time, and manage families and other responsibilities.

Our academic advisors are here for you to support you all the way to the successful completion of your degree.

Transfer Guides

Students who are wanting to know what courses can be taken at a Texas community college before transferring to UT Dallas should consult the UTD Transfer Plan for their major. To check the transferability of courses not listed on the transfer plan, please consult the Transfer Credit Tool and search by the school where the course was taken. Do note that only courses with a grade of C or better will be considered for transfer credit.

Students who have taken Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), and College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams should consult the equivalency charts to see which tests UTD awards credit and the scores needed. During your academic advising, please inform your advisor if you have any of these credits.

Current community college or university students who are interested in transferring into one of the Bass School’s majors may ask their assigned undergraduate advisor questions. Advisors are assigned based on the student’s major and last name.
