Spring 2021: A Glimpse of Graduation

We are so proud of our graduates this semester — and year!

The University of Texas at Dallas has produced a hub for finding all things related to Spring 2021 graduation. We decided it would be nice to put the spotlight on several of our students who were featured by the University as a whole.

Nicky Hickman

BA in Literature

Nicky is ready for his next adventure. Before pursuing a job, he plans to go hiking in Oregon in June and also hopes to take a trip abroad. “I miss the sense of community that UTD offered before COVID, and times like those bring back nostalgia,” he said.

Dr. Edleeca Thompson

PhD in Aesthetic Studies

“My favorite UT Dallas memory is when Dr. Richard Brettell whisked a few of his ‘fave’ PhD humanities students away on a private jet to Kansas City in 2017. We had so much fun watching Dr. ‘B’ enchant a packed audience at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art while he lectured on the work of French painter, Camille Pissarro. He was such an amazing and gifted scholar and lecturer and gave his all for the love of art.”

Stevesha Evans

Stevesha Evans

MA in History

Stevesha, who plans to continue her education at UT Dallas by pursuing a PhD in History of Ideas, said she has felt supported at UT Dallas and is looking forward to returning to campus this fall.

“For the most part, UT Dallas has provided a good environment for me,” she said. “I have really enjoyed the School of Arts and Humanities graduate program. I appreciated learning from my professors, and I am looking forward to continuing to learn more from them as I work on my doctoral degree.” Stevesha participated in this year’s Lavender Graduation.
