If you are going to live on campus, the Bass School has a Living Learning Community for first-year students. Additionally, first-year students enroll in a First Year Seminar during their first fall semester. This class is designed to introduce students to UTD and the Bass School, as well as help them navigate the transition to university life.

Current high school students with additional questions about the Bass School’s degree plans, AP, CLEP and transfer credit can request a virtual or in-person “Bass School Prospective High School Student” meeting.

Transfer Students

The Bass School welcomes transfer students. Our school has an incredibly diverse population of students. We have transfer students who are coming after one or two years at another institution as well as students who are returning to academics later in life. We have students who are working full-time or managing families or other large responsibilities. Our academic advisors work hard to support each student in their unique situation.

Transfer Guides

Students who are wanting to know what they can take off-campus at a Texas community college should consult the UTD Transfer Plan for their major. To check the transferability of courses not listed on the transfer plan, please consult the Transfer Equivalencies page and search by the institution where the course was taken. Do note that only courses with a grade of C or better will be considered for transfer credit.

Students who have taking Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), and College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams should consult the equivalency charts to see which tests UTD awards credit and the scores needed. During your academic advising, please notify your advisor if you have any of these credits.

Military veterans may be eligible to receive credit for their service experience. During your academic advising, please notify your advisor that you are interested these credits.

All policies regarding transfer credit, credit by exam, and military credit are posted within the Undergraduate Student Catalog.

Current community college or university students who are interested in transferring into one of the Bass School’s majors may ask their questions to their assigned Academic Advisor. Advisors are assigned based on the student’s major and last name.
