Master of Arts in Humanities
The Master of Arts in Humanities is tailored for individuals seeking to deepen their understanding of the humanities, whether to advance professional goals or prepare for doctoral studies. This program emphasizes interdisciplinary learning, inviting students to explore topics across history, philosophy, literature, and the arts. With options for both professional and research-focused study, the MA in Humanities is a versatile degree that cultivates critical thinking, effective communication, and a nuanced understanding of culture and society.
Students pursuing the research option engage in coursework that includes a foreign language requirement and the completion of a thesis or portfolio, providing a solid foundation for further academic pursuits. Those choosing the professional option complete advanced coursework tailored to their interests without the additional language or portfolio requirements. Both paths encourage students to develop strong analytical and interpretive skills, writing with clarity, and communicating complex ideas effectively.
Graduates of the MA in Humanities leave the program equipped with the expertise to pursue diverse opportunities in education, public service, nonprofit management, and the arts, or to continue into doctoral studies. Working closely with distinguished faculty whose scholarship spans the humanities, students benefit from mentorship and opportunities to refine their research, writing, and critical thinking skills. This program not only expands intellectual horizons but also prepares students to make meaningful contributions to their fields of interest.
