The Bass School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology provides the opportunity for students to complete Texas Teacher Certification requirements while pursuing their major in literature or history. Students use their electives and major requirements to complete their education courses.
The Bass School currently offers the following Texas Teaching Certifications:
- English Language Arts for grades 4-8
- English Language Arts for grades 7-12
- History for grades 7-12
- Social Studies for grades 7-12
Students seeing teacher certification are advised both by an academic advisor in their major and by a certification advisor in the Teacher Development Center.
Post-baccalaureate students (those who already earned bachelor’s or graduate degrees) may seek Texas teaching credentials through the Teacher Development Center Educator Preparation Program.
