Approximately 200 undergraduate and graduate students celebrated their scholarship pursuits during the Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology commencement ceremony and the University’s doctoral hooding ceremony last December.
In the Fall 2023 semester, The Bass School granted nearly 180 undergraduate degrees across diverse disciplines. Students earned degrees such as Bachelor of Arts in History, Literature, Visual and Performing Arts, Philosophy, and Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication – the second-most requested major at the University of Texas at Dallas.
Mastering Excellence
As the Fall semester concludes, we take pride in spotlighting the academic achievements of our graduate students. This season, we celebrate the conferral of ten distinguished Master’s degrees, each representing a unique journey of dedication, scholarship, and expertise within The Bass School at UT Dallas.
Hooding Highlights
The University celebrated the Fall 2023 Doctoral Hooding at the ATC Lecture Hall on Friday, Dec. 15.
During the hooding ceremony, 12 Bass School doctoral candidates were celebrated and adorned with their hoods by their supervising professor and Bass School Dean, Dr. Nils Roemer, while on stage.
A customary tradition involves the Supervising Professor hooding their doctoral candidate on stage alongside the Graduate Dean. In cases with a co-chair, they also have the option to participate in the hooding process.
As we look back on the recent Doctoral Hooding ceremony, we celebrate the PhD recipients from The Bass School this semester:
