How does knowledge change as it moves from one academic language culture to another? How “placed” are our intellectual concepts? In what ways does the dominance of English-language scholarship shape the production of knowledge around the world? Who is qualified to undertake a scholarly translation? The Translational Knowledge Symposium, sponsored by the UT Dallas Office of Research and Innovation and the School of Arts and Humanities, will address these and many other questions related to the location of scholarship in translation. The event will be held virtually Jan. 28-29.
Featuring speakers include Sadia Abbas, Karen Emmerich, Ignacio Infante, Ignacio Sanchez Prado, Haun Saussy, Samah Selim, and Russell Valentino.
