Photography

Unlock your creative potential and develop your photography skills through hands-on learning and advanced technical exploration.

The Photography program at UT Dallas offers students the opportunity to dive deep into both traditional and contemporary practices. With a strong emphasis on fine art photography, courses such as Advanced Photography (ARTS 4372) challenge students to refine their portfolios and engage with critical discussions on contemporary art. Whether you’re working in the darkroom or mastering digital technologies, the program provides the tools and guidance to develop your artistic voice. Students also benefit from a collaborative environment, engaging with a dynamic faculty, visiting artists, and peers across disciplines like digital imaging and creative writing. In addition to the technical aspects, you’ll have the opportunity to exhibit your work in both group and solo shows, gaining real-world exposure in the Dallas arts community.

The University of Texas at Dallas houses the Comer Collection, which supports courses in the history of photography.
