Youth Guitar Competition

Application Deadline: February 15, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.

The Competition: March 2, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

The Youth Competition is open to 18 years and under (or high school and under) and takes place on the UTD campus in a location disclosed to competitors and their parents. The Youth Competition is not open to the public.

Our Youth Competition is co-chaired by Eddie Healy and Vanessa Corder.

Note: The University of Texas at Dallas will not take custodial responsibility of minors while participating in the Annual Texas Guitar Competition and Festival. Custodial responsibility will remain with teachers K-12, parents, legal guardians, and chaperones.

Registration Instructions

The application period has ended for this year and the application period for the next contest is not yet open. Please check in the late fall or winter for the next opportunity to register.

If you are a U.S. Citizen, please bring your Social Security card. If you are NOT a U.S. Citizen, please bring your passport and/or Visa.

You must be present Saturday night at the award presentation in order to receive the merchandise prizes. If you are not present, only the check for the award amount will be mailed to you.

Custodial Responsibility Disclaimer: The University of Texas at Dallas will not take custodial responsibility of minors while participating in the Youth Competition of the Annual Texas Guitar Competition and Festival.
