Language Study

The Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology at The University of Texas at Dallas offers undergraduate students a wide variety of language and culture courses in the following areas:

All languages are available at the beginning and intermediate levels. Advanced level courses are offered for several languages. Students who wish to enroll should take a language placement assessment.

Other languages may be offered, but are not taught on a regular basis. Learn more about additional languages.

Language courses are offered based on faculty availability and student demand. Not all courses are taught each semester. Please see CourseBook to view course offerings for current and previous semesters. Language courses are not open for auditing.

Further Academic Opportunities

The Bass School offers a BA in Literature with a concentration in Spanish, as well as a Minor in Spanish and a Minor in Asian Studies.

In addition to a wide variety of course offerings, The University of Texas at Dallas offers many study abroad opportunities. Students are encouraged to see the International Center and their academic advisor if they are interested in studying abroad.
